Maltiečiai campaign #BeJūsųNebūtųMūsų

We‘ve started to cooperate with Maltos ordino pagalbos tarnyba (MOPT) organization and together we are doing a campaign called #BeJūsųNebūtųMūsų, that invites youth to show their respect and gratitude to elders around us.

Since social media is a place where young people spend most of their time, we decided that a challenge on „Facebook“ could attract their attention. We invited them to share pictures with their grandparents, older neighbours or random elders with the hashtag „BeJūsųNebūtųMūsų“ and to put on a special frame with a heart on their profile picture.

Maltos ordino pagalbos tarnyba social business manager Edvinas Regelskis, who was a longevous volunteer in this organization, says, that a number of elders don’t have relatives and feel extremely lonely, so every one of us could make them feel happier and make their everyday life better by dedicating a bit more time to elders around us.

„While some of them vitally need a bowl of soup or help around the household, others are longing for a sincere conversation. Let‘s give them some time and attention, because we would not be here today if not for them.“ E. Regelskis says.

A campaign #BeJūsųNebūtųMūsų has already attracted many people, who shared stories and pictures of elders. People who already have joined this challenge are LRT television  hosts Živilė Kropaitė, Ignas Krupavičius, Eglė Daugėlaitė, Milda Vilikanskytė, TV3 host Renata Šakalytė – Jakovleva, actress Indrė Stonkuvienė, singer Vaidas Baumila and others.

This campaign was discussed on LRT radio, Delfi.lt  live broadcast and was covered on the biggest news websites in Lithuania.
