The first international communication of Vilnius
Gediminas’ letters about Vilnius could undoubtedly be called the first international communication project of this city to attract foreign business.

During the festive period this year, we worked with Vilnius Women’s Home crisis center, contributing to their support initiative “Laimingi mūsų namai” (“Our Happy Home”).
In 1323 the Grand Duke of Lithuania Gediminas wrote a letter inviting craftsmen, merchants, knights and farmers from the Western countries to come to Lithuania. The name of Vilnius was mentioned for the first time ever, and therefore the date of this letter is considered to be the birthday of Vilnius. Nevertheless, introduction of Vilnius was not the main aim of Gediminas’s letter. What did the ruler of Lithuania actually want to achieve? Could we call these letters the first international communication campaign of Lithuania and if so, was it successful?
“During the festive season, it is important to remember that there are people for whom our time and support can be the greatest Christmas miracle,” says Rita Saunorytė Norutienė, managing partner of Agency 1323, about the support given by the company last Christmas.
We‘ve started to cooperate with Maltos ordino pagalbos tarnyba (MOPT) organization and together we are doing a campaign called #BeJūsųNebūtųMūsų, that invites youth to show their respect and gratitude to elders around us.
After creating a warm friendship with Varėna children center „Versmė“ we wanted to encourage kids creativity, so we invited them to draw their dreams hike.
We are glad to present our new partner – Lithuanian Soldiers and Veterans Association (Lietuvos karių ir veteranų asociacija).
We have established a successful and socially responsible cooperation with the Lithuanian Red Cross Society.
Rita Saunorytė Norutienė, Manager of Agency 1323, and Jūrate Tamašauskienė, Director of Vilnius day care centre for the disabled people Šviesa, signed sponsorship and cooperation agreement.
